Rescue Service

At Little TinCRs, our rescue service is the heart of our operations. We respond to reports of injured or unwell street cats and feral colonies in need. Our trained team conducts assessments to determine each cat's condition and immediate needs. Safety is paramount, so we utilise humane trapping methods to ensure minimal stress for the animals. Once rescued, we provide essential veterinary care, including treatment for injuries, vaccinations, and neutering. Our aim is to rehabilitate these cats and ultimately find them loving homes or return them to their colonies where they can thrive. We actively work with the community, raising awareness about cat welfare and the importance of responsible pet ownership.

Trapping

Our trapping service is crucial in addressing the needs of feral cats and neighbourhood strays. Using humane techniques, we capture cats softly and safely, prioritising their comfort throughout the process. This service is particularly beneficial in helping to control stray populations and prevent further suffering. Once trapped, the cats are taken into our care for health evaluations, which include neutering and vaccinations. We also ensure that any friendly cats are socialised and assessed for possible rehoming. Our trapping initiatives not only help individual cats but also support community efforts in managing feral populations professionally and ethically.

Neutering image

Neutering

Neutering is one of the most impactful services we provide at Little TinCRs. By neutering feral and stray cats, we aim to control the cat population and reduce the number of unwanted litters. Our partnerships with local veterinary clinics allow us to offer this essential service at a low cost or even free in some cases. Each neutered cat is returned to its original location, contributing to a healthier colony dynamic. Beyond population control, neutering plays a vital role in improving the overall health of the cats, decreasing the risk of certain diseases and behavioural problems. We believe that through mass neutering campaigns, we can create a lasting change for the feline community in Leeds.

Investigation (strays and feral colonies)

Investigating stray and feral colonies is an essential part of our work at Little TinCRs. We actively gather information on local cat populations, assessing their needs and the challenges they face. By conducting thorough investigations, we identify problem areas requiring immediate intervention, such as locations with high numbers of strays or distressed feral cats. Through collaboration with local residents and community organisations, we raise awareness about the plight of these cats, encouraging community involvement and support. Our research efforts help inform our strategies for rescue and rehabilitation, ensuring we can provide the most effective aid to those suffering in silence.

Chipping

Microchipping is an essential service that helps ensure the safety and security of cats. At Little TinCRs, we offer affordable microchipping to all rescued cats before they are rehomed. This simple procedure allows for easy identification should a lost cat be found, drastically increasing the chance of a reunion with its owner. For feral cats, we also chip them before returning them to their colonies, facilitating tracking and monitoring. Furthermore, we educate cat owners on the critical importance of microchipping, ensuring that their pets receive this vital service. Together, we can create a safer environment for cats and promote responsible pet ownership.

Cat Adoption image

Cat Adoption

At Little TinCRs, we offer a dedicated cat adoption service for those looking to welcome a furry friend into their home. Each cat is carefully assessed for behaviour and health before being put up for adoption, ensuring we match them with the right families. We strive to educate potential adopters about the responsibilities of pet ownership and the unique needs of cats, particularly those who have come from challenging backgrounds. Our goal is to create lasting and loving homes for each cat, helping them transition from rescue to a life full of love and care. With your support, we can continue to find forever homes for all cats in need.

Rehoming/Relocation image

Rehoming/Relocation

Rehoming and relocation are vital services that Little TinCRs provides to ensure the welfare of cats without suitable homes. For cats that cannot be returned to their original feral colonies, we offer a structured rehoming process that prioritises the cat's well-being. We assess the needs of each cat and find them suitable placements, ensuring they are matched with responsible and loving families. In cases where relocation is necessary, we work diligently to facilitate a smooth transition to ensure minimal stress. Our rehoming initiatives are closely monitored to track each cat's journey, guaranteeing the best outcomes for those under our care. With your help, we can continue changing the lives of cats in our community.
